The parents of little Zephaniah Ramnarayan are pleading with the public to give their only baby a new lease on life.
The nine-month-old is to undergo a critical cardiology surgery in Trinidad no later than August 26.
The family was given US$5,000 from the Ministry of Health and also a sum of cash by a contributor to open an account.
The cost of the surgery is US$8,500. The tickets for the family to travel to Trinidad were entirely sponsored by Caribbean Airlines.
The child’s father, Kenneth Ramnarayan, told Kaieteur News that approximately $US1000 more is needed to complete the fund. Donations can be made at the Scotiabank in account number 10018100.
Donation boxes may be found at the Clippers Barber Shop on Camp Street; Jai’s Signs and Auto Designs, located at Lot ‘D’ Independence Boulevard, Georgetown; and the Barber Shack on Charlotte Street.
