Only one game was possible when play continued last Sunday in the Guyana Softball League Banks DIH sponsored 15-over Softball cricket tournament.
The preliminary round of the competition is coming to an end, with only two deciding games left to complete the quarter-final line-up.
At the Providence Ground: The lone match that was possible saw Good Fortuin Young Warriors defeating Dare Devils XI by 30 runs.
Young Warriors batted first and scored 116 all out in 13.2 overs (Rajendra Kunaf 36 (3×6); Safraz Ali 30 (2×6); Joel Singh 2-16 from 3 overs; Dianand Budram 2-20 from 3 overs).
In reply Dare Devils XI were all out for 86 in 14.5 overs (Rajendra Budram 25 (2×6); Rajendra Kunaf 3-16 from 3 overs; Safraz Isahack 2-10 from 3 overs).
Meanwhile on Friday August 1 at NIS Ground, Regal XI got a walkover from Ariel XI who failed to turn up.
The deciding match in this zone will pit Regal XI versus Untouchables of Berbice on Sunday.
The teams already through to the quarter-finals are: Zone A – Rangers XI and Den Amstel XI; Zone B – Rocky XI and Boom Blast XI; Zone D – Country Side XI and La Jalousie Estate XI; Zone C – Yet to be decided with the lone match to be played Sunday with the front runners being Trophy Stall XI; Untouchables and Regal XI.
