The annual Namilco ‘Wheat-up’ cycle road race which was scheduled to take place today from the Flour Mill to Long Creek on the Linden Soesdyke Highway and back has been postponed.
President of the organizing club ‘Roraima Bikers’ Brien Allen said they had no alternative since the Guyana Police Force, who is critical to the successful staging of the event, has indicated their inability to provide ranks for the event as a result of other commitments for Emancipation Day. The race will now be contested on Sunday August 10th.
