Countryside XI recorded a double victory following results of matches played last Sunday in the Banks DIH sponsored Guyana Softball League 15-over Softball cricket tournament.
At Providence Ground: Pitch # 1:
Michael XI gained a walkover from Stewartville XI.
Pitch # 2:
Country side XI got a walkover from La Grange All Youths. While Country Side XI, in their second match, demolished Silver Belt XI by 167 runs:
Country Side batted first and scored a massive 233-5 in 15 overs (Krishna Deosarran (National Player returning from his stint in Trinidad) led the way with a belligerent 125 which contained 15 massive sixes and 4 fours with Rushie Samaroo supporting with 64 (6×6;5×4); Roy Jeewan took 1-31 from 3 overs) In reply Silver Belt could only muster 64-4 in 15 overs (Roy Jeewan 13 (2×4); Richard Gomes 2-5 from 3 overs).
At NIS Ground:
Untouchables XI sent Dare Devils packing by 10 wickets:
Dare Devils won the toss and batted and were bundled out for a meager 41 in 7 overs (Shawn Ahmad 6-6 from 3 overs) In reply Untouchables XI knocked off the runs in 6 overs (Dexter Fraser 26 not out (3×6)
Better Hope got a walkover from Top Notch XI and Dare Devils in their second match got a walkover from Destroyers XI.
Meanwhile the fixtures for Friday August 1 will see:
At NIS Ground: 10:30am: Regal XI vs. Untouchables XI; Umpires: Mark Ernest and Omar Khan.
From 1:00pm: Ariel XI vs. Regal XI; Umpires: Mark Ernest and Omar Khan.
