Yesterday, Wildfire Promotions, a group that is well known for promoting entertainment in Guyana, donated a wheelchair, a walker and a walking stick to the Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre, now called the National Rehabilitation Complex. The donation marks the first anniversary of the group.
Public Relations Officer, Ms Yolanda Armstrong, and one of the promoters, Warren Williams, both came across with the same message: Wildfire is not only a promotion company that usually brings in a variety of international artistes. It also intends to make the lives of the disabled better and easier.
Yesterday, at the handing over ceremony, the representatives of the Rehabilitation Complex were grateful for the donations.
Ms Stacy Johnson of the Complex said that it is nice to know that the promoters of such a well known entity would actually take time to donate these items that would help improve the lives of many disabled people that are attached at the centre.
The promoters said that the presentation is the beginning of new and better things that the body has for the society as a whole.
The group is currently embarking on another promotion which is scheduled for today at the National Stadium, Providence.
