Bryan Rankin, a remand prisoner, was on Thursday charged with indecent assault and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Rankin, of Regent Street, Lacytown, who made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, allegedly indecently assaulted Debra Dodson Cultrust on April 17.
On the same day he is accused of unlawfully assaulting the same woman, causing her actual bodily harm. To both charges he pleaded not guilty.
When asked if he had anything to say in his own defence, he said that he was surprised that these charges were called three months after they were supposed to happen.
Given the fact that the accused is a remand prisoner for another criminal offence, he was refused bail.
He is expected to make his next court appearance on September 23.
