A man who was placed before the court for two robbery charges has been remanded to prison by Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton.
Brian Schwartz made his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer charges of robbery with aggravation and larceny from the person.
It is alleged that on July 4, he and others robbed Howan Kumar Ganpat of a quantity of jewellery and other items totaling $74,500.
Then on July 6 he allegedly stole from Sandra Mootoo one gold hand band valued at $60,000. Both charges were indictable and the accused was not required to plead.
However, Police Prosecutor Desiree Fowler asked that the accused be remanded. Schwartz is expected to make his next court appearance on July 24.
