Players named to represent Guyana at the 17th Caribbean Cup and 4th WDF Americas Cup Darts Tournament scheduled to be staged from July 25- August 3 are intensifying their preparations with practice sessions being held at the Salt Air Sports Club, Le Meridien/Pegasus Hotel.
According to defending Caribbean Men’s champion Norman Madhoo, the sessions have been going well and he expects Guyana to do even better than the last time when the competition was played in Barbados in 2006.
The Guyana Darts Association sometime ago selected a formidable team which will be spearheaded by Madhoo, but also include (Men’s)- Floyd Jaundoo, Andy Muir, Sudesh Fitzgerald, Lalchand Rambharose and Mark Semple, all of whom has relatively good experience at the event.
The Women’s team is a vastly experienced unit that will be led by veterans Jean Singh, Jean De Souza and also include Lorna Walters and Jackie Clarke.
Apart from the host Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana some of the other teams slated to participate are: (Caribbean Cup)- Turks and Caicos, Florida, Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, Belize, Brazil, Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, while the United States of America and Canada are the teams added to the list to compete in the Americas Cup.
The reigning team champion in the Americas Cup is the USA, while the hosts are the current titlist in the Caribbean Cup.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
