When U 15 football rivalry continued for teams in the Berbice area on Saturday last at the All Saints Scots Church ground registering convincing wins were Corentyne Links (CL) and New Amsterdam United (NAU) who both continued their impressive run in the tournament.
Also in winner’s row but without breaking a sweat were Hearts of Oak Juniors and Paradise Invaders via the walk over route.
The biggest victory on the day was scored by Corentyne Links who hammered Real Union 5-0 in a dominating display. Marksman Albert Anderson once again was the leading goal scorer following up on his hat trick last week with a helmet trick scoring in the 5th, 24th, 28th and 42nd minute. Tyrone Penaux added the fifth in the 34th.
Based at Upper Corentyne, CL, competing in their first tournament of this nature has played unbeaten so far and has been the surprise package of the tournament to date.
The team is made up of mostly players from the Orealla and Sipurata areas who attend school in the Upper Corentyne area.
In the other match up, pre-tournament favourites NAU also maintained their unbeaten record when they whipped Rosignol United 3-0.
Netting a goal each for the winners were Cleroy Joseph, Sherwin Halley and Graham Thomas in the 34th, 39th and 45th minute, respectively.
Hearts of Oak Juniors got their walk over from Barzilla while Monedderlust failed to show up for their clash with Paradise.
The competition which is being organized and coordinated by the Hearts of Oaks Masters will continue on Saturday with 4 more matches.)
