The inclement weather has forced the organisers to push back the start of the inaugural 2008 West Berbice Cricket Association Inter-club 20/20 cricket competition which was scheduled to get started last Wednesday by one week.
The competition, which is sponsored by Rising Sun Farms, will now get started on Wednesday and all the previous arrangements remain the same.
Thirteen teams are slated to participate in the competition with the teams being divided into two zones: Zone A is made of – Blairmont, D’Edward A and B, Woodley Park, Number Two Sports Club and Shieldstown; while seven teams are in Zone B – Bush Lot Sports Club, Bath Community Centre A and B, Young Achievers Sports Club A and B, Hopetown and Rainbow Generation.
The winning team will receive $30,000 and a trophy while the runners –up will take home $20,000 and a trophy. All matches are scheduled to commence at 2:00pm.
