Yesterday, crowds swarmed the Licence Revenue Office, at the eleventh hour, to purchase licences for operating businesses, motor vehicles and motor cycles.
The grace period permitted by the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) expired yesterday, and those who had not purchased their licences rushed to do so before the end of the day. The GRA had said that under the law, persons who did not conform to the set deadline would be fined an additional 10 per cent of the cost of the licence.
