St. Pius defeated Rising Star in the final to grab the West Demerara/Al Sport & Tour Promotions Circle Tennis Competition which ended last Sunday at the Bayrock ground in Linden.
In the final, St. Pius batted first and made 208-10 off the allotted deliveries. In reply, Rising Star was restricted to 206-6 with Junior Bell 44 and Wendell Garnette 30, being the principal scorers.
In semi-final action, Al Starr Education & Sports Club lost to Rising Star.
Al Starr & Education Sports Club compiled 142-4 with Edward Cobenna 32 and Trevon Fraser 31.
Rising Star replied with 146-2. Junior Bell made 36.
