Competition in the Hamilton Green Cup Knockout Football tournament continues on Friday at the Mackenzie Sports Club Ground in Linden on Friday.
The tournament kicked off last week with a few matches but was paused due to the weather. So far Ann’s Grove, Mahaica, Buxton, Plaisance and Golden Grove have advanced, winning their matches.
In the scheduled games on Friday at the MSC from 7:00pm, Silver Shattas square off against Rhythm Squad, while at 9:00pm, Milerock take on Georgetown Football Club (GFC) as the night features Georgetown versus Linden rivalries.
More play is set for Sunday 20th August at the Victoria Ground with a double header starting from 6:00pm with Santos opposing Mahaica, while at 8:00pm Golden Grove take on Ann’s Grove.
The Teams are battling for attractive prizes which include $500,000 and the Minister of Citizenship trophy for the winner, $250,000 and the Busta trophy, $150,000 and the John Fernandes trophy and $100,000 and the Cummings Electrical trophy respectively for the other top three finishers.
Former national footballer and Coach Lennox Arthur is the coordinator of the event.
