– as Guyana Watch Inc. hosts 24th outreach
Starting Saturday, Guyana Watch Inc. will continue a tradition of bringing much needed health care services to the Guyanese populace. The medical outreach will see a team of about 30 health care professionals using their expertise to assist residents of multiple areas across the country.
According to President and Founder of Guyana Watch, Mr. Tony Yassin, the outreach will be characterized by a week of medical and dental outreach clinics.
While those who will offer the dental services have previously been a part of past Guyana Watch Inc.’s outreaches, Yassin disclosed that some of the medical experts on this occasion are fresh faces to the annual outreach.
The visiting team, which is scheduled to arrive today, will consist of experts mainly from New York, United States, Yassin said.
This year will mark the 24th outreach for the New York-based Guyana Watch Inc. organization and, according to its President, the occasion will be marked by the dissemination of more than US$400,000 worth of medications.
“We hope to have a good medical outreach this year,” said Yassin who anticipates that the team will be able to attend to well over 3,000 people in need of various health care services this year.
Among the areas that the visiting team is set to target are: Wales, Patentia, and Vreed-en-Hoop West Demerara; Canje, Mara, Stanleytown, Bath Settlement, and Hopetown in Berbice and also areas including: Soesdyke, Kuru Kuru, Timehri, and Santa Mission.
