After a month of trial, 23-year-old Aliscia Dennelle Simon, a third year Business Management
student at the University of Guyana, was yesterday freed on a charge which alleged that she harboured a wanted man.
Particulars of the charge against Simon, of 2785 Community Lane, South Ruimveldt Park, had alleged that between February 2 and 8 at Community Lane, South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, she harboured Shawn Neblett, whose name and photograph were published by police in connection with trafficking in narcotics.
The matter was dismissed by City Magistrate Dylon Bess.
The police, on February 2nd, issued a wanted bulletin for Neblett, an ex-policeman wanted in connection with trafficking in narcotics through the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.
Kaieteur News understands that a total of six witnesses were called by the prosecution. The UG student had been out on $100,000 bail pending trial, with instructions to report to the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters, Eve Leary.
