The authorities of the Alness Turf Club at Alness, Corentyne Berbice has organised a grand one day horse race meet for Sunday 14th May.
The event, which will be the first for the club for the year, has seven races listed for the day with total prize monies of over $3M.
The Alness Turf Club, which was once one of the top race tracks in Guyana, has suffered a number of recent postponements. However, according to coordinator Marcel Crawford Jr the venue has been receiving a facelift and will be in excellent condition come race day.
Among the events listed for the day are the Alness Open Classic, while there are expected to be events for G and lower, H and Lower, ‘I’, J, K and L and lower horses.
There will be incentives for top Jockey, trainer and stable among others.
