As part of its efforts to recognise the tedious work of its Social Workers, the Georgetown
Public Hospital Corporation [GPHC] recently honoured them with a breakfast. The occasion for the recognition was International Social Work Day 2017 which was held under the theme ‘Promoting community and environmental sustainability’.
At the small but meaningful ceremony, the Social Workers were addressed by the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer [ag], Mr. Alan Johnson; Chairperson, Ms. Kesaundra Alves; General Medical Officer within the Oncology Unit, Ms Latoya Gooding and Supervisor of Social Workers, Ms Fiona McKoy.
International Social Work Day is celebrated annually on March 21.
