– Distributes 2000 kites to children
In keeping with the Easter tradition, Proprietor of the Garage drive thru Bar and Grill, Estwick Northe, has distributed some 2000 kites to children and youths in the community of South Ruimveldt Gardens and surrounding areas .
The popular Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt Gardens fast food outlet was transformed into an entertainment hub for the activity, yesterday.
According to Northe, the day is set aside for the children to collect their kites, have a meal and enjoy themselves with their families and friends at the Garage.
“We cater to children in and out of the area, orphanages, church and other youth groups as well as the less fortunate.”
This is the fourth consecutive year in which, the Garage and Grill has distributed kites. The company started by sharing out 500 kites and it has become an annual tradition.
“Each year we share out an additional 500 kites. Last year, we distributed 1500 kites and this year we catered for 2000 children. We are aiming to share out 2500 next year.
The businessman said that the Garage has partnered with Cevon’s Waste Management and Big Boss Trucking Services to make the event possible.
He noted that other companies are welcome join the Garage in the venture.
