Police said that a suspect in the coke bust Thursday afternoon is a poultry farmer from
Wakenaam, Region Three, and Canal Bank, Port Kaituma, Region One.
The suspect has since admitted the offence and is being processed for court.
According to the police report, about 16:10hrs Thursday, ranks of ‘G’ Division whilst conducting a road block exercise on the Aurora Public Road, Essequibo Coast arrested the 30-year-old after a search of his vehicle unearthed 11 pounds of suspected cocaine.
“The suspect who has since admitted ownership of the illegal substance is being processed for court,” police said.
His vehicle, a Toyota Ipsum, HB 5808, was also impounded.
