Covent Garden defeated Queenstown by 27 runs when The Ministry of Education
National Sports Commission AL Sport and Tour Promotions inter zones Secondary Schools Easter Vacation Windball Championships continued recently at the National Gymnasium.
Batting first, Covent Garden rattled up 126 without loss. Shoaib Roop slammed 80 (9x6s), while Christ Sobers made 37. Queenstown Secondary responded with 79-1. Jeffrey Blair made 48.
Tucville beat Christ Church by ten wickets. Batting first, Christ Church made 94-2, Ariel Tilku got 44. Tucville replied with 95 without loss. Godfrey Phillips made 69 and K. Daly 20.
Central High defeated Queen’s College by eight runs. Central High sent it to bat made 130-2 with Indajit Nanan scoring 52, Mervyn Benjamin 43 and Deonarine Tiwari 18. Queens College were limited to 123 – 2. Navindra Persaud struck 58, Amos Sarwan 30 and Elnathan Sukhnandan 29.
Richard Ishmael beat East Ruimveldt by 35 runs. Richard Ishmael took first strike and managed 127-1. Juspice Jones scored 87 (9x6s) not out and Byron Bowen 28. East Ruimveldt made 92-1 in reply. Dequan Bamfield slammed 71 (8x6s).
In the female division, South Ruimveldt overcame Richard Ishmael by nine wickets. Richard Ishmael batted first and made 124-0. Kayla Joseph stroked 52 and D. Grace 41. South Ruimveldt responded with 126-1. Midella Stephens made 68 and Carisa Conway 46.
