Reknowned for his daredevilry in circuit racing, Trinidad and Tobago’s Group Four star,
Kristian Boodoosingh, is promising “a great show for the fans” on April 7 when the second staging of the Georgetown Grand Prix, organised by GT Motorsports, is held, at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club, Albert Street and Thomas Lands.
According to a release from GT Motorsports, the Trinidadian has confirmed that he will be coming to compete in the Grand Prix in a Shifter Kart provided by the Organisers and is relaishing the opportunity to showcase his talent to the local fans.
“I’m eager to test the newly refurbished track and hopefully cop some podium finishes. I am ecstatic about this opportunity given to me by Vishok (Persaud) to compete at the GT Motorsports Grand Prix this Friday. Having competed in Guyana on three previous occasions in the Group Four class and coming out with several podium finishes, I am looking forward to racing at this new facility and hopefully I can put on a great show for the fans and come out with some more podium finishes,” Boodoosingh said.
Boodoosingh is not the first overseas driver to compete at the event following the participation of Trinidad and Tobago father/daughter combination of Ravi and Bridget Singh, Barbados’ Orry Hunte and Canada’s Darryl Timmers who competed in the inaugural Grand Prix in February.
He said the reviews of the facility and the atmosphere on race night from Bridget Singh has been positive and he is excited to race.
Singh was the champion driver in the 125cc Senior Cup, having won both her races.
The event is being sponsored by Stag Beer, Sun Burst Juices, E-Networks, ISG, Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club, Optique Vision Care, King’s Jewellery World, Truck Masters, Trophy Stall, Prem’s Electrical Store, Honda Powersports, Super Bet Sport Betting, Vishal Auto Toy Store and Cyril’s Taxi Service.
