The 16-year-old who was on the run after stabbing 14-year-old l Andrew Clarke is in custody, after being turned in by an attorney.
Police said that the attorney turned the teen in on Monday and he is being detained at the Cove and John Police Station.
Kaieteur News was also told that investigators were also attempting to locate a female relative of the suspect, since she had allegedly held the victim so he could not defend himself.
Police have taken statements from the wounded lad, who is hospitalised.
Clarke, Lot 201 C Field Sophia, was stabbed to his abdomen last Saturday night during a confrontation with another youth.
The incident stemmed from a confrontation between the two boys at an internet cafe in ‘C’ Field, Sophia.
Clarke claimed that the suspect and some of the teen’s friends had a further confrontation the following day, where the suspect challenged Clarke to “finish the matter.”
The lad said that he and his cousin continued walking but Joe allegedly struck him with a piece of wood.
Clarke alleged that he was sitting outside his home on Saturday when the 16-year-old and a female relative attacked him.
He alleged that the woman “hold me down and start to hit me all over my body,” then told ‘Joe’ (the suspect) to “come and deal with me.” He said that ‘Joe’ then stabbed him in the stomach before leaving the scene with the relative.
