David Chalitar grabbed four wickets, while Shazaam Mohamed hit a composed half century as
Good Success SC defeated Noitgedacht SC by four wickets to secure their place in the final of the Wakenaam Cricket Committee Farmers Cup T20 tournament on Sunday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Noitgedacht SC found the going tough and were bowled out for 101 in 18.4 overs at the Wakenaam Community Centre ground. Neal Ramalho struck 39 with five fours and two sixes while Leon Higgins made 15.
Chalitar finished with 4 for 12; Nazeer Mohamed had 2 for 14 and Wazir Khan 2 for 23.
Good Success reply got off to a terrible start losing four wickets in two overs with only one run on the board. However, Shazaam Mohamed and fourteen-year old Maheshwar Ramnarine stabilised the chase with a stand of 85. Mohamed struck six fours and two maximums before he was dismissed for 50. Ramnarine, who batted with great assurance, remained unbeaten on 30, while Nazeer Mohamed made nine not out. GSSC closed on 102-6 in 15.1 overs. Matthew Chung took 2 for 2 and Dellon Retimah had 2 for 13.
GSSC will now play arch rivals Sans Souci in the final scheduled for Sunday at the said venue.
