The East Coast Demerara Jubilee Fiesta softball cricket competition has been set for tomorrow at the Better Hope Community Centre ground. Teams including Herstelling Rangers, Wellman, Mahaica Raiders and Success Warriors have already registered for the male segment while in the female category; 4-R Lioness, Trophy Stall Angels, Blue Divas and Mike’s Wellwoman have already signaled their intention.
The softball cricket will be the highlight of the weekend of activities which include music and sport organised by B.E.S.T. Family Entertainment along with Craby and the Guyana Floodlights
Softball Cricket Association (GFSCA).
The male softball winners will pocket $150,000 and the winning trophy with $75,000 going to the runner up. The female champion team will receive $50,000 and a trophy with $25,000 going to the second place.
Interested teams can contact Wayne Jones on 685 6908 or 650 1790 for registration and competition regulations. All male teams will pay an entrance fee of $15,000 while the female teams will pay $5,000.
After the cricket final the organisers have a massive closing party planned with performances from Kwesi ‘Ace” Edmondson and Poonam Singh.
