Dear Editor;
In an effort to promote Guyana as a modern state I think the Office of the President should be removed from New Garden Street to the eastern end of Durban Park. The new edifice should be a modern four-story building comparable to any of our latest architecture. The said area has enough room for parking, police barracks, drive-through for guests, a small flower garden and so many other facilities. The remaining projected developmental works for our 50th anniversary, which have not yet began, can be transferred to the Botanical Gardens. For the Mash parade I wish to suggest that both pavilions, Durban Park and the National Park, be used. The parade can begin on Camp Road, go through the National Park, along Vlissengen Road and finish at Durban Park. The reverse route is also a possibility. With two large viewing galleries, our many visitors will be more than comfortably accommodated.
