Dear Editor;
The Election Commission unveiling by the Auditor General is nothing new , a certain person at Gecom has been at the center of these irregularities for a while which has seen traditional stationery and office businesses specialists such as Metro, Kojac etc, with these quotes being used as a basic for award to preferential suppliers such as the Brass Brothers.
When the Auditor General has finished he may want to investigate the big wig of the Central Bank’s preference to Regal Stationery regardless of any other considerations, and further afield other Government Departments and their preferred suppliers. Only a new clearly defined Tendering and Quotation procedure, that is available by electronic means to all suppliers and with transparency in the selection of bidders will see the abuse of State funds coming to an end.
