GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power Nat. U-17 League
A second half double off the boot of Romello Johnson piloted West Berbice’ Monedderlust to a
3-1 win over Lichfleid Nuggets in the lone match that was possible in the Berbice Football Association leg of the GFF/NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power National Under-17 Intra Association league.
It was anybody’s game at the half way mark as the score was locked at one goal apiece, Lichfield Nuggets neutralizing Monedderlust’ opening goal which was scored by Brentnol Frank who capitalized on a loose ball in the six yards box that was clinically slapped past Lichfield’s goalie Orin Bowen in the 20th minute.
But six minutes later it was an even match when Tyrone Pompey banged his shot past Monedderlust’s custodian Roger Smith, making it any body’s game.
Monedderlust came out re-energised in the second half of the 70-minute affair and took the attack to Lichfield, in the process they fired in two unanswered goals thanks to Romello Crawford.
He first scored in the 65th minute and minutes later pounced on a rebound from a Tyrone Delph shot that came back into play from the cross bar from an 18-yard missile.
