Four foreign companies have submitted bids for the design, supply and installation of Water Treatment facilities and Upgrade of Reticulation at Uitvlugt, Diamond and Sheet Anchor.
In total, five companies submitted bids for the project which were opened yesterday at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB).
The Guyana Water Incorporated was listed as the procuring entity and the project has been divided into two lots. The Engineer’s Estimate for Lot One was announced as $2,083,653,268, while Lot 2 is estimated to cost $1,741,358,752 taking the total sum of the project to $3,825,012,030.
In addition, bids were opened for the provision of security services to the Regional Democratic Council of Region Three. This undertaking attracted eight bids, all of which were above half a billion dollars.
To address the deteriorating Liliendaal Bridge on the East Coast of Demerara Railway Embankment, bids were opened yesterday, whereby 12 companies are competing to rehabilitate the 100-feet panel bridge. The engineer’s estimate for the project is $126,373,403.
The Ministry of Public Security was also a procuring entity yesterday whereby it received bids for the construction of Lethem Fire Station. The project attracted nine bids and the Engineer’s Estimate totalled $11,369,119.
Bids were also opened for the Procurement of Laboratory Materials for the Guyana Forensic Science Laboratory. The procuring entity is the Ministry of Public Security. Seven companies submitted bids, with one being based in Trinidad and Tobago.
The Ministry of Communities was also a procuring entity, and bids were opened for the Lusignan Sanitary Landfill Operation Service. The Engineer’s estimate was announced as $40,000,000.
Under the Ministry of Public Security there is to be the construction of an upper flat to the Brickdam Lockups. The Engineer’s estimate was announced as $19,994,769.
And bids were opened for the Completion of a Call Centre at Enmore, East Coast Demerara. The procuring entity was announced as the Ministry of Business.
