Mike’s Wellman, Parika Defenders, Regal Masters and Tropical Springs recorded victories when the Wolf’s Challenge Softball Cup continued on Sunday. Playing at the Gandhi Youth Organisation ground, Mike’s Wellman defeated Fisherman XI by ten wickets. Batting first Fisherman XI managed 134 all out in 18.4 overs. Trevor Emmanuel made 57 and Jaggernauth Singh 23; Sheldon Adams claimed 4-23, while Mike Singh, Greg De Franca and Laxman Kallicharran took two each.
Wellman responded with 167 without loss in 15.2 overs. Ron Ramnauth slammed two fours and seven sixes in a rapid 78 while Khemchand Dindyal made 38.
Parika Defenders beat HS Masters by five wickets at the said venue. HS Masters batted first and scored 167 all out in 20 overs with Manoj Arjune hitting four fours and eleven sixes in scoring 91 while Rudy Samaroo got 19; Ucil Armstrong snared 3-22, Devanand Kannan 2-9 and Ramesh Rambharose 2-17. Parika Defenders replied with 168-5 in 17 overs. Mahendra Balgobin stroked five fours and a similar number of sixes in a top score of 67 not out while Amit Kumar made 39. Ricky Persaud had 3-19.
At Malteenoes Regal Masters overcame Savage by four wickets. Savage took first strike and scored 116-8. Richmond Grant made 22 and V. Ramsaywak 14; Raymond Harper and Shaheed Mohamed grabbed two wickets each. Regal responded with 118-6 in 15.5 overs. Harper got 33, Lynden Lyght 29, Mohamed and Samuel Kingston 19 each. Ronald Persaud captured 3-20.
Tropical Springs beat Superior Woods by eight runs. Batting first, Tropical Springs managed 152-8. Suresh Ramdin cracked 80 and Vishnu Baljit 19; Mark Fung snared 4-28 and Darmendra Mohabir 2-8. Superior Woods were bowled out for 144 in 17.5 overs in reply. Peter Persaud made 39, Mohamed Rafeek 29, Surujlall Kumar 19 and Mohabir 16. Buddy Rahaman Khan bagged 4-17 and Ramdin 3-21.
