In the lone match that was contested on Sunday at Burnham Park, New Amsterdam, Cougars roared to a comfortable 4-0 win over Corriverton Links, thanks to a brace each from Quinton Crandon and Lamar Reid.
Crandon sent Cougars into the lead 15 minutes into the match and by the end of the first 45 minutes they were up 3-0 on account of Reid’s double in the 32nd and 40th minute. Corriverton Links never threatened Cougars’ dominance on the match as the winners sealed the deal ten minutes into the second half when Crandon completed his double with a 55th minute strike.
The respective associations that are contesting this inaugural and historic league have been battling inclement weather for the past five weeks which has put paid to their ability to have available grounds in playing conditions.
