Wakenaam left arm spinner Imran Khan grabbed four wickets as Lankans CC overcame Stallions CC when the Toronto District Cricket League 40-over tournament continued recently at Sunnybrook Cricket Field.
Stallions took first strike and managed 207-8, batting first with Naeem Qazi scoring 39; Khan had 4-26 for Lankans who responded with 208 in 32 overs. Naveed Ali made 38, Shehaan Sarap 34 and John Rajendram 29.
Previously, Lankans beat SOFF CC by 93 runs at Eglington Flats. Batting first Lankans posted 256-7. Former Bartica and Essequibo middle order batsman Mahase Richards struck a fluent 108 including eight fours and a similar number of sixes while Khan slammed five maximums in scoring 70. SOFF CC were sent packing for 106 in 24 overs in reply. Roshan Manikavasager grabbed 4-9 and Naveed Ali 4-29.
