A security guard attached to Calibur Security Service had to undergo emergency surgery
at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation on Saturday morning after he was involved in an accident at Houston, East Bank Demerara.
Around 10 hours, Visiting Supervisor, Gerald Fredericks, 56, of lot 101 Mandela Avenue was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by a route 32 minibus.
A hospital source told this publication that Fredericks was heading to Prettipaul Singh wharf to check on an employee when he was struck.
The driver of the minibus who brought Fredericks to the hospital, was overheard saying he tried to swerve from the motorist to no avail.
Details surrounding the accident are still sketchy.
