– no serious damage
A drifting vessel on Thursday damaged two buoys and slammed into the Demerara Harbour
Bridge some time.
General Manager of the Demerara Harbour Bridge Corporation (DHBC), Rawlston Adams, stated that the vessel appeared to be a derelict modified trawler that might have lost its anchorage and went adrift.
He said that the Maritime Administration Department has launched an investigation into the matter.
Adams also stated that the Bridge authorities are still to ascertain who the owner of the trawler is. No serious damage was done to the bridge.
