Quintol Green, 45, of Lot 5 East La Penitence, Georgetown was killed in a horrific accident on the double turn at Support, East Bank Demerara, yesterday.
According to reports, around 5:30 hours, Green was proceeding in a northerly direction heading to the city when he lost control of his Toyota fielder wagon motor car. He ended up in the path of the truck which was heading in the opposite direction.
Kaieteur News was further told by an eyewitness that when they got to the scene they saw Green hanging out of the mangled vehicle. Blood was everywhere. The driver of the Leyland truck, Alvin Shivlochan, who escaped without a scratch, was seen on his phone trying to make contact with the police.
Other residents who heard the loud impact and had gone to the scene, assisted in pulling Green from his car, but they reported that he may have already been dead by this time.
Meanwhile, the police are seeking the help of the public to identify a man who was crushed by a John Fernandes truck on Tuesday morning just outside Parliament Buildings.
Traffic Chief, Dion Moore, noted that around 8:30 hours the driver of the motor lorry that was towing a trailer was on Hadfield Street. Having the light that permitted him to turn, the driver proceeded onto Avenue of the Republic. There the unidentified man reportedly ended up between the front and rear wheel of the trailer and was crushed.
