East Coast defeated East Bank by ten wickets when the Demerara Cricket Board U15 Inter-Association U15 50-over tournament commenced yesterday.
East Bank never recovered from a bad start and were sent packing for 60 in 16.5 overs. Mark Fredericks struck three fours and one six in a top score of 26, while extras assisted with 24. Off-spinner Danile Mootoo claimed 3-2 and Ricardo Niranjain 2-14.
East Coast had little trouble in overhauling their target as they responded with 61 with out loss in 10.5 overs. Shivanand Gosain scored 24 with two fours while Shaid Shaw made 10; extras contributed 27.
The competition continues tomorrow.
