Prominent businessman, Dr. Yesu Persaud, of the Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL)
yesterday paid a courtesy call on President David Granger, at the Ministry of the Presidency.
Persaud, in an invited comment, said the meeting was an opportunity to discuss mutual areas of interest. He described the meeting as “very successful”.
He said that the Institute of Private Enterprise Development (IPED) and Demerara Bank Limited have made significant contributions to the country over the years and it is within this context that the meeting was convened.
Dr. Persaud is Chairman of Demerara Bank Limited, Trust Company (Guyana) Limited, Guyana Trust Unit, Consultative Association of Guyanese Industry, BEV Processors Incorporated, IPED and the Guyana Youth Business Trust.
He was accompanied by former Chairman of the Private Sector Commission (PSC) and Chief Executive Officer of IPED, Ramesh Persaud.
