Home invasion of women who live alone on the Essequibo Coast is continuing. And those women are afraid and now say that they have to give up the comfort of their homes, especially at nights.
The most recent attack was carried out on a Richmond Village, Essequibo Coast woman who lived alone.
Reports have indicated the women woke up to find her house burglarized. The bandit took the opportunity to enter the woman’s house while she was asleep. Some $2,000 along with other items were stolen from the woman’s house.
On another occasion, the home of another woman of Richmond Village who lives alone was burglarized while she was not at home. The thief emptied the woman’s home, carrying away her underwear.
The brazen thief returned to that same house days later. That matter was reported to the police who acted promptly with their standard investigations.
In other cases, several unidentified males were seen during wee hours in the morning in the yards of women at Anna Regina and Richmond Housing Scheme. (Yannason Duncan)
