Guyana fight back after Miller’s 6wkt haul
Left arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul picked up two wickets for one run off five overs to lead Guyana Jaguars fight back against Jamaica Scorpions when the fifth round of the WICB Professional League 4-day tournament commenced yesterday.
After being bowled out for 189 Guyana limited Jamaica to 63-4 at the close of day on day one at Sabina Park. Raymond Reifer and Christopher Barnwell have so far taken one wicket each; Andre Mc Carthy is on eight. Devon Thomas has so far top scored for the host with 30.
Earlier Assad Fudadin led the Jaguars batting with 47 while Vishal Singh hit 45 and Chris Barnwell 23. Nikita Miller finished with 6-46 while John Campbell took 3-45.
At Kensington Oval, host Barbados Pride closed the day on 272-6 against Leeward Islands Hurricane. Royston Chase is unbeaten on 95 and with him is Ashley Nurse on 22. Jonathan Carter earlier scored 55 and Kevin Stoute 41; Gavin Tonge picked up 4-43.
At Beausejour Cricket Ground in Gros-Islet, St. Lucia, Windward Islands Volcanoes were 205-7 at stumps. Andre Fletcher struck 63, Devon Smith 32 and Liam Sebastien 30. Uthman Muhammad and Imran Khan captured two wickets each.
