Bids open for supply of hardware to Lethem Power Co.
During yesterday’s opening of bids at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), multi-million dollar bids were opened for the supply of line hardware for the Lethem Power Company, Ministry of Public Infrastructure.
This is a project under the auspices of the Hinterland Electrification Company Inc. piloted by former Prime Minister Samuel Hinds. The project’s aim was to provide power systems to homes in as many hinterland communities as possible.
Communities in Regions One, Seven, Eight, Nine and 10 are reported to have so far benefitted from the project.

Under the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI), bids were opened for the supply and installation of Greenheart Timber Piles for the storage tank foundation at Sophia, East Coast Demerara (ECD). The engineer’s estimate was $28,278,443.

Under the Ministry of Education, bids were opened for the provision of security services. There were just three bids.
