Donald Sinclair has assumed duties as Director General of the Ministry of Tourism. His appointment became
effective October 1, 2015.
Minister of Tourism, Catherine Hughes, made this disclosure to members of the media during a press conference at the Ministry of Tourism, Colgrain House, Camp Street on Thursday.
Minister Hughes expressed confidence in Sinclair, stating that he is capable of carrying out his duties effectively. She also spoke about his wealth of knowledge in the tourism field. “I am really excited to introduce him to you, and be able to say that he has joined our team,” said the Minister.
Sinclair is said to be ‘well-seasoned’ having held a number of related senior positions, both locally and internationally.
Prior to his appointment, he served in Suriname as Director at the Suriname College of Hospitality and Tourism. In addition, he had previously served as Special Assistant at the Ministry of Tourism, and also Executive Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA).
