Satro CC defeated Young Warriors by four wickets to win the Phyllis Carter Memorial T20 title on Sunday at Enterprise ground, Leguan. Young Warriors took first strike and scored 145 all out in 19.3 overs. Omesh Dhanraj struck five sixes in a top score of 45 while Tyrone Narine cracked 31. Off -spinner Huckumchand Savitir bowled well to take 4-22.
Satro responded with 146-6 in 19.3 overs. Mustapha Zaman led with chase with a fine 35 while Savitir returned to score 31 which earned him the man of the match award; Odit picked up 4-23.
Savitir and Odit Narine shared the best bowler of the tournament prize while Tulsieram Premnauth received the best batsman award.
President of the Leguan Cricket Committee Virendra Chintamani thanked the Carter family for their continued support and congratulated the finalists.
