The Muslim Youth Organization of Guyana (MYO) in association with RAF’s Variety Store, 5th Annual Hajjin Zeleena Rafeek Memorial countrywide Inter-Jamaat 10/10 knockout softball tournament is set to conclude tomorrow at the Albion Community Center ground, Berbice.
MYO who were the 2013 champions, last year’s winner Leonora Jamaat, Farm, Grove and Queenstown Masjids are the teams from Demerara in the playoffs. They will be joined by Fyrish and Albion Masjids from the Ancient County and Adventure of Essequibo Coast.
The winning team will take home a trophy and $300,000, the runner up a trophy and $200,000, third place a trophy and $100,000 and fourth, a trophy and $50,000.
Man-of-the-match in the final and third place game, the player with the highest individual score and best bowling figures will also be rewarded while medals will be given to the finalists. Teams are required to assemble at the venue for 10:30hrs to facilitate a prompt start. In the quarterfinals Queenstown will face Albion, MYO will take on Fyrish, Farm opposes Leonora and Grove will match skills with Adventure. The grand finale will commence at 20:00hrs.
