Following their drawn encounter against Foxy Ladies FC, Little Divas FC turned in a much improved performance to inflict a 3-0 drubbing on West Side Conquerors when action in the Third Annual Foxy Ladies football tournament continued at the Tucville Ground last Sunday evening.
The win has taken them to 4 points to lead the points standing in Group A with Foxy Ladies at number two with just 1 point and Westside Conquerors in the cellar without a point. Eagles United are the frontrunners in Group B with 3 points, one point more than Demerara Queens while Kuru Kururu is yet to score a point.
Abioce Haywood opened the winners’ account for Little Divas in the 5th minute while Troyann Barton and Yaniera Kenswil sealed the deal with successes in the 30th and 33rd minute respectively.
The match between Eagles United and West Side Conquerors was a one sided affair with the former team humiliating the latter 13-0. Andrea Lashley and Nicola Leacock were the leading scorers with 4 goals each.
Lashley breached the goal in the 5th, 9th, 15th and 28th minute while Leacock netted in the 6th, 38th, 55th and 58th minute. Collette Hope contributed a hat-trick in the 22nd 45th and 50th minute while Neshana Costello (25) and Lakeisha Pearson (37) sealed the deal.
The tournament continues at the same venue next Saturday when Foxy Ladies take on West Side Conquerors one match before Eagles United tackles Demerara Queens of Linden.
