Coming hot on the heels of the recently concluded Back to School Dental Outreach, Digicel paid a visit to the students and teachers of the Kingston Secondary School to present students with back to school items.
The institution which is located within the same community as the Company’s Head Office saw a positive reaction to the gesture by the cellular phone company as the students welcomed the Digicel representatives including Sponsorship & Events Manager, Louanna Abrams.
“Digicel has for many years been involved in several community activities in Kingston. This year was no different. We decided to pay a visit to this school today since it is part of the same community we are a part of. We have been giving back to the community, especially around Christmas time and the back to school period, where we would go door to door and give school items to the children in the area,” Abrams said.
This year, however, Digicel visited the Secondary School and provided each student, new and continuing, with snacks, water bottles and lunch packs.
Headmistress Ms. Rowena Seymour expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to Digicel for taking time to come to share with the students.
Abrams said that this is not the only school that will benefit from its Back to School initiative. The company has several other distributions planned.
