Several teams drawn from Ministerial departments and the private sector will lock horns for honours and bragging rights when Sports Coordinator (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), James Lewis, organizes a tapeball cricket competition on the National Cultural Centre Tarmac tomorrow morning starting at 09:00hrs.
A release dispatched by Mr. Lewis states that the tournament is organized with the aim of fostering a good working relationship among the two groups through sports.
Several institutions have already signaled an intention to participate including Ministry of Finance, Felix Austin Training College, CAMEX (Timehri), Forestry Commission, Metro Office Supplies, Gafoors, National Milling Company (NAMILCO), Busta Beverages Company and the Auditor General’s Office.
The coordinator has promised a day of intense rivalry and said that the competition is not restricted to the above mentioned institutions.
As such, he is urging other interested institutions to contact him on telephone numbers 672-6179 or 666-5857 for registration or additional details.
Winning teams as well as persons winning special awards will receive trophies and medals donated by Action Tyre and Trophy Stall.
