Digicel’s Dental Outreach Programme continues to benefit children across several communities in Guyana.
The cellular company’s oral health care exercise is being done free of cost to children between the ages of 6-16 years and the team of medical personnel recently visited and examined children from the Hauraruni and Kuru Kuru communities on the Linden/ Soesdyke Highway on Monday.
According to a release, children from other outlying villages also benefitted from the visit.
“We have completed four of the eight areas that were selected for this year’s dental outreach programme; we are looking forward to visiting the other areas and hoping for bigger responses than we have gotten so far. The response has been tremendous,” said Sponsorship Executive, Louanna Abrams.
The team visited Port Mourant, Berbice yesterday where over seventy children from Port Mourant and surrounding areas were attended to.
The release added that the Dental outreach is scheduled to be at the KK Gas Station in Mahaica today, while tomorrow it is expected to be at Tuschen at the Two Brothers Service Station area and at Anna Regina Market Square in Essequibo the following day.
The checkups commence at 10:00 hrs.
