The Ministry of Education Department of Sport/National Sports Commission (NSC) through the Director of Sport Christopher Jones made several donations to the Teach Them Young Camp 2015.
According to a release, among those that received the goodwill were Heart Of Oaks Masters Football Club, East Bank Berbice Sports Club, (EBBSC), St. Cuthbert’s Mission and East Bank Demerara.
Other camps were conducted at the National Park Tarmac and theTimehri Red Ground.
The EBBSC Camp commenced on July 29 and concluded on August 2 where students were involved in sports and taught about moral values, creativity and how to boost self esteem.
The Timehri Camp which ran for two weeks ended last Friday and participants were exposed to games such as cricket, Volley ball, Football, Athletics along with being taught the rules of the games.
The participanst were also part of the cricket coaching session that was conducted by Barbadian Coach Richard HE Clark, at the National Part Tarmac.
The Camp at St Cuthbert’s Mission is expected to commence on Monday, August 10 and run through Friday, August 17.
The students will be involved in Football, Volleyball, and Table Tennis among other fun games.
The Grove, East Bank Demerara location will be a hive of activities for the one-week duration Camp which will see the children ages between 9-16 years engaged in football.
Meanwhile, similar camps will also be organised for Mocha, Den Amstel, Linden and Liverpool Village, Corentyne.
Sports Officer attached to the NSC Allister Munroe is the organiser of these camps.
