Rematch of Spit Fire and Jack In My Style set to ignite the arena

All roads lead to Bush Lot United Turf Club (BLUTC) today for what promises to be an action packed Emancipation horserace meet.
Thousands are expected to throng the venue at Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice for the restart of the 2015 horseracing season.
The event which was put back by a week due to the inclement weather is expected to see a grand day of racing with a number of questions expected to be answered. Eight races are slated for the day with a prize package of over $5.5M up for the taking. Over 65 horses have entered.
The Feature ‘C’ and lower 1600M event for a first prize of $1M compliments of Banks DIH Limited is expected to a scorcher. The event is expected to see the rematch between Spit Fire of the Shariff Stable and Jack in My Style of the Jumbo Jet Stable. Who will win is anybody guess. Fans will remember when the two animals last met in April the event ended in controversy. Spit Fire was initially awarded the victory, but the decision was changed and the two horses were given a dead heat.
The horses will come forward today. However they are not expected to have it lightly since horses with the caliber of Diplomatic Cat and Princess She is Not are also in the race and with Unsettled, Bridal Stone Corner and the newly imported Guyana Time, among those running, the event is expected to be a scorcher from a total package of $2M and the Banks DIH Limited trophy.
Selecting a winner in the three year old West Indies Bred event is also an arduous task with the likes of Strom Bird, Country Girl, Keep On Swinging, It’s My Choice, Gold D Cova and Settling Star all lining up to take home the $350,000 and trophy over 1200M.
Captain Crook, Mansoon, Fresh Again, Work Force, Plum Plum, Good Will Boy, Unsettled and Red and Lovely will renew battle in the E1 and lower 1500M event for a first prize of $350,000 and trophy.
The G2 and lower event has a competitive and large field including Rosetta, Dream Come through, Precise Gold, Shantal, Honest Penny, Sent From Above, Cat Messiah, Today Is My Lucky day, Campador, Princess Page and Bird man will be looking to fly away with the $300,000 and trophy over 1300M.
The two year old animals will be making their entry into the racing circle with the likes of Firing Line, Jumbo Gift, Maid of the Cat and Wichy Poo entered for the 1000M race for Guyana and West Indies bred and born animals for a winning money of $300,000 and trophy.
The I and lower and three year old Guyana Bred horses over 1300M for a winning take of $200,000 and trophy which will see the likes of Amazon Warrior, Mary Ann, Secret Escape, Little, Royal Cash and Cat Messiah competing.
The J and lower event has Famous Pride, The Gump, Flying Object, Regina, Secret Escape, Party Time and Little will be competing for a first prize of $180,000 over 1300M.
The final event will be for animals classified K and lower over 1300 M for winning a winning pocket of $140,000 and trophy respectively. Among the entries are Ranch Boy, Amigo, Blue Lightning, Secretariat, Regina, Liquid Lion, Chronic, Silent Warrior, and Plane.
A number of sponsors are on board led by Beverage Giants Banks DIH, among the others are Inshan Bacchus Hard Running Trucking Service, Jumbo Jet Auto Sales and Racing Stables, Hand In Hand Insurance, Q Trex International Shipping, Paghoo General Store, Choke Gas Station, Tony Auto Sales, Lakeram ‘Buddy’ Sookdeo and Sandra Indian Fashion of Bush Lot.
The event will be conducted under the rules of the Guyana Horse racing Authority.
Race time is 12:00 hrs.
