The recently installed executive of the Guyana Cycling Federation (GCF) will have a taste of its first international competition when the 2015 edition of the Caribbean Junior Cycling Championships are staged in the Dominican Republic from August 7-9, next.
An experienced four-member team was named to by the federation that will seek to bring glory to this nation. The selectees have all been doing well for the past 12 months and are looking forward to doing well for Guyana.
Romello Crawford, Jamal John, Andrew Hicks and Raphael Leung have been selected by the GCF to represent the Golden Arrowhead. Both Hicks and Leung made their debuts as juveniles last year in Suriname and are looking forward to riding in the junior category this year.
The lone medal Guyana got last year was a bronze in Road Race from Alanzo Ambrose in his final year.
GCF Vice President, a former national cyclist who is still active, Paul Choo-Wee-Nam will Coach and Manage the team.
