President of the Georgetown Dominoes Association (GDA) Faye Joseph will be hosting her birth anniversary tournament this weekend at her residence Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt.
Entrance fee is $10,000 and the winning team will take home a trophy and $200,000, the runner up a trophy and $100,000 and third place a trophy and $50,000.
The Most valuable player will pocket $10,000 and one re-entry will be allowed.
Joseph told Kaieteur Sport that the tournament will be used to fine tune preparation for the players that will be heading to Puerto Rico for a competition in September. She added that they be looking to continue their dominance on the world stage and encouraged the players to enter with their respective teams.
Joseph stated that the GDA will organize a tour around Guyana to interact with players and promote the game.
The preliminary round will commence on Saturday at 15:00 hrs while the finals will be contested on Sunday.
